Position Overview:
The United Nations is seeking a qualified National UN Volunteer to serve as a Social Policy Expert, supporting evidence-based policy development aimed at improving social outcomes and reducing inequality at the national and local levels. The selected candidate will play a critical role in shaping inclusive policies that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to poverty reduction, education, social protection, and equity.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the development, analysis, and implementation of social policies that promote inclusion and address the needs of vulnerable populations

Conduct data-driven research and contribute to policy papers, position statements, and advocacy materials

Collaborate with government counterparts, civil society, and development partners to promote integrated policy approaches

Assist in the design and evaluation of social protection programs and public spending frameworks

Monitor and assess the impact of policy initiatives and provide technical recommendations for adjustments

Build national capacity through knowledge sharing, workshops, and stakeholder consultations

Contribute to reporting on key indicators aligned with the national development agenda and SDGs
Required Qualifications:

Advanced university degree in Social Policy, Public Administration, Economics, Development Studies, or related field

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in social policy analysis or program implementation

Strong knowledge of the national social development context and institutional frameworks

Proven experience in policy development, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement

Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills

Fluency in English and the national language; strong communication and presentation skills
