The Fire Services Manager will lead all fire protection and emergency response operations under the MISS Task Order, ensuring compliance with international and host-nation fire safety standards. As a contingency hire, the incumbent must be prepared for immediate deployment to support operations in potentially austere or contingency environments. The role involves managing a team of fire professionals, coordinating training and drills, and maintaining operational readiness of fire and life safety equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning, organization, and execution of fire services in support of the MISS Task Order.
Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, DoD regulations, and host-nation requirements.
Manage fire station operations, personnel scheduling, training programs, and emergency response drills.
Maintain accountability and readiness of all firefighting equipment, vehicles, PPE, and suppression systems.
Serve as primary liaison with military, government, and civilian stakeholders on fire safety matters.
Conduct fire risk assessments, building code reviews, and hazard analysis across the facility.
Coordinate mutual aid and emergency response agreements as required.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents, inspections, and compliance audits.
Lead incident investigations and post-incident reviews with a focus on continuous improvement.
Prepare contingency plans and manage staffing for 24/7 readiness in deployed environments.
Qualifications & Requirements:
U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain required government clearances.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in fire services, with at least 3 in a leadership capacity.
Certifications: NFPA 1001 Firefighter II, NFPA 1021 Fire Officer II, and NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor I required; HAZMAT Technician preferred.
Experience working in contingency, OCONUS, or government contract environments.
Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.
Ability to work in high-stress, austere environments on a rotational or extended deployment basis.
